Bio

Nik is Senior Lecturer and Courseleader for the Division of Drama at The University of Huddersfield. He researches and lectures on Performance Magic and Creative Technical Theatre.

He has worked as a performer, writer and director; working on a number performance projects in the UK, Germany and France, including Discurs'96 & The Festival of Contemporary European Plays . He has designed for Performance City, FestCEP & Sapajou , produced a low budget feature and performed as a dancing penguin.

His current research focus is devising series of performance pieces examining the status of magic/bizarre magick as a performance practice. He also works on (re)designing and building Victorian illusions, and has used his knowledge of traps and mirrors to work as magic adviser on a number of performance projects.

Nik is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians .
